Latest Ofsted Report Rates St Saviour's & St Olave's School as Outstanding!

A fantastic year for St Saviour’s & St Olave’s School in the New Kent Road continues with the publication of the CE girls’ school’s latest and best-ever Ofsted report.

The report declares that: ‘the school, judged outstanding at the time of its previous inspection [2005], has not rested on its laurels. It has continued to develop at an astounding pace, for example in securing very high achievement among its students and by expanding and improving the sixth form.‘

All sections of the school community come in for high praise and acknowledgement, from the Headteacher Dr Irene Bishop and her Senior Leadership Team: ‘excellent models of high expectation and professionalism’, to the ‘highly caring’ teachers who are ‘always willing to ‘go the extra mile’‘, and the students whose ‘achievements are really outstanding’.

The comprehensive girls’ school has already had a lot to celebrate this school year: record-breaking GCSE results, placing it ‘amongst the top performing schools’ according to Minister of State Jim Knight MP; A-level results also reached an all-time high of 98% pass rate at A2 level, placing the sixth form in the top 10% in the country for value added, according to Alps (A Level Performance Systems).

Last September, the school was presented with the prestigious International School Award by the DCSF/British Council in recognition of its outstanding work in bringing the wider world into the classroom.

The Specialist Schools and Academies Trust has also recently acknowledged the school’s achievements as a ‘Most Improved’ and High Performing Specialist School.
